HOW TO TAKE ACTION

1.) 📱Call and 💻 email the Sedgwick county commissioners and the City Council members to demand the task force recommendations be enacted through immediate policy change.

2.) Call and email Steven Stonehouse the Sedgwick county Director of Corrections and demand that the staff involved in Cedrics murder be fired immediately. 3.) File a complaint against the social worker on call the night CJ was placed into custody and the social workers involved in CJs foster care case with the Division of the Child Advocate.

4.) Call Wichita Police Chief Lemuel Moore and demand the police who lied on CJ’s intake form be fired immediately from the Wichita Police Department and formerly charged with falsifying police documents. 📱 Phone: (316) 268-4158

5.) Call Marc Bennett’s office and Demand he file charges on the staff from the Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center and the Juvenile Detention Facility who were involved in CJ’s murder. 📱 Phone: (316) 660-3600 💻 Email: da@sedgwick.gov

6.) Contact Shanelle Dupree the chair of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee and demand the $42 million of reinvestment funds be reallocated and invested into community based alternatives. 📱 Phone: 913-942-3558 💻 Email: shanelle.dupree@ks.gov

7.) VOTE!!! Our system took CJ’s voice from him. By voting these elected officials OUT of office we will be able to address the lack of accountability of the individuals and institutions responsible for murdering him. We must take back our power to win justice for CJ. Get registered to vote, educate yourself on the candidates (or find someone who’s political opinion you trust and ask them about who they support and why) and have a plan to vote on November 8th!!!

8.) Run for political office!!!! We believe we can take back our power by starting at the ballot. It starts by getting rid of politicians who believe they’re infallible and untouchable. It starts when “us” and “them” is replaced by “we.”
